Why should you book a Performance Assessment with Video Analysis?
First…
WHAT IS A PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT?
It is a battery or collections of tests designed by a sports scientist or fitness coach to help understand an individual or teams strengths and weaknesses.
By truly understanding the limiting factors holding athletes back from sporting success, scientists can take this information and work on areas that need priority focus and build it up to an optimal, high performance level or peak performance level
Video analysis is a tool we use in our sports fitness and assessment which allows us to Identify energy leaks, imbalances and poor running mechanics.

YOUR BODY TYPE:
Your body is a complex instrument or for a better analogy, a high performance sports car. To play your sport, you are required to have certain performance attributes.
If I mentioned Rugby, immediately you would think of size and strength. If i mentioned tennis, then size would not matter, quickness of foot movement, balance and explosive power is more important. Would rugby players make good soccer players?
You’re right…
Of course not, soccer players need to be lean and mean, have great directional change and be able to cover at least 11.45km in an English Premier League match.
YOUR SPORTING POSITION:
Your sport and body type is one thing but the position you play or want to play is another. Does a prop need to be as agile as an 8th man?
You’re right again…
Of course not, the sports training you need for your position is also critical for sporting success. Just think back to what a prop does. If you are a midfielder and training the same way as a “prop,” then you are in for some trouble.
This applies to every single position in every single sport. You need to train smart but before you can do that, you need to know your abilities and limitations.
This is why you need to Take a Sports Science Movement Assessment. By knowing the facts, your have a blueprint for your future success.

SOME IMPORTANT INFORMATION WITH REGARD TO YOUR SPORTS SCIENCE FITNESS & MOVEMENT ASSESSMENT
{accordion=Why is SSA so important?}
Getting assessed is the first step to achieving greater performance.
By having a better understanding of exactly where your performance lies and knowing what areas of that performance are letting you down, you can then put the steps in place to ensure you are constantly moving forward.
The ASP SSA eliminates future hit or miss training from your child’s athletic growth.
{/accordion}
{accordion=What does the assessment involve?}
The ASP SSA is a set of field based assessment protocols that have been specifically designed to address the needs of athletes, young or old.
The parameters tested in our SSA include, but are not limited to Speed, Agility, Strength, Power and Core Stability and video analysis for running mechanics.
These basic fitness parameters form the underlying Fundamentals of athletic performance, regardless of the sport being played.
{/accordion}
{accordion=How long will the ASP SSA take?}
Our standard assessment, which includes tests for Speed, Agility, Strength, Power and Core Stability as well as video recording for bio-mechanical analysis of the athlete will take approximately 60 minutes.
{/accordion}
{accordion=What do I need to need to bring to the assessment?}
All that your child needs to bring is the following:
- – Water bottle with something to drink (avoid fizzy or sugary drinks where possible)
- – Comfortable sports clothing –nothing that limits their ability to move freely
- – Training shoes/boots that you are assessing in e.g. soccer, cricket, athletics, netball etc.
- – Sun screen protection
{/accordion}
{accordion=What feedback can I expect from the SSA?}
Once your child has completed the SSA we take the results back to the office and begin the reporting process. We put together your ‘Blueprint for Success’ that shows you where your child ranks in comparison to other athletes of their age group.
We identify inefficient movement patterns; explain what this means to the athlete as well as where they should be aiming to perform.
