ASP Sports Science

Advanced testing.A deeper understanding.

Our standard Sports Science Assessment gives a broad, field-based picture of speed, strength, power, agility, coordination and video analysis. Advanced testing goes deeper — helping us understand muscle function, force, power, symmetry, mobility and imbalances.

It is not necessary for everyone, but it is a valuable option for athletes who want a more complete picture.

Start with the assessment. Get the facts. Then decide if a deeper look is useful.

Athlete performing a countermovement jump on force plates

Objective data

Evidence-based insights, not guesswork.

Individualised testing

Relevant to your sport, age and goals.

Used when relevant

An optional addition for athletes who want a deeper analysis.

Force plates

Peak force

1198 N

Force plates

Measure jump performance, force output, landing mechanics and left/right differences.

Quad / hamstring strength

Knee extension

310 N

Quad / hamstring strength

Assess strength and ratios to understand muscle balance.

Hand grip strength

Grip strength

810 N

Hand grip strength

A simple but useful measure of overall strength potential.

Range of motion

Range of motion

Understand joint mobility and movement restrictions.

Hip strength

Hip strength

Assess hip strength relevant to speed, stability and change of direction.

Core strength

Core strength

Better understand trunk strength and control.

Balance & symmetry

Balance & symmetry

Explore left/right differences and movement balance.

Sport-specific testing

Sport-specific testing

Additional tests chosen according to the athlete's sport, age and goals.

Interested in advanced testing?

This is an optional addition to the ASP Sports Science Assessment, with tests selected according to the athlete and their goals.

  • Approximately 60–90 minutes
  • May be done on a separate day
  • No fixed package — tests selected individually
